以前の記事でDWE、CFK（ DWEが運営している英会話塾）だけでは英語の4技能のうちリーディング、ライティング能力がつきにくいという話をしました。書く練習をなかなか教材内ではしないんですよね。CFKでも書く課題が出るのはLimeクラスから（年齢、本人のレベル関係なく母子分離クラス在塾5年以降）なんですよね。明らかに4技能でライティング能力だけ欠落している状態が続きました。
娘が5歳半、DWE歴4年ほどの時、日本語の読み書きが難なくできる、英語のリーディングがoxford readingのレベル2が読めるというくらいで、DWEのCAP制度以外に娘の実力を図るために、いくつかのオンライン英会話のレベルチェックを受けました。オンライン英会話を選択した理由は3つあります。
1️⃣コロナによる対面授業が難しかった時期であること
2️⃣他のお稽古もありこれ以上おでかけを要するお稽古を増やせなかったこと
3️⃣せっかく身についた英会話能力を活かして英語でライティングを教えて欲しかったこと
レベルチェックを受けたのは、Cambly kids（CK）、Global step academy（GSA）、Kids duo advenced（KDA）の３箇所です。
CK、GSAは30分の英会話のみのテストで、受け答えがしっかり出来れば英語学習者枠、受け答えに不安があれば初心者枠での登録が可能で、それぞれのレベルに合ったクラスを受講することができます。娘はどちらも英語学習者枠（上級）で登録することができました。
KDAはそもそも、Kids duo internationalというKids duoの英語のみで保育をやっている保育園の卒園、在園児が対象のオンライン英会話（Kids duoと関係なくても登録可能、娘はkids douも他のインターも通ったことありません）で、テスト内容は多岐に渡り、英会話、リーディング（フォニックスのルール確認含む）、ライティングとがあり、文章の並び替えなど、英検5、4級のような内容もあり、５０分ほどかかりました。またこのテストのフィードバックをテストを担当した外国人講師がテスト１０分後にやってくれるのですが、それが全部英語でww私はちんぷんかんぷんでしたwでも、その直後に日本人のスタッフの方がその内容含めてフィードバックしてくれるので安心してください💖結果この5歳半の時点ではやはりライティング、リーディングが基準に達成せず、また３か月後に挑戦してくださいと言われました😢
注目すべきは、このレベルチェックはGSA、KDAは無料、CKは１００円という破格なんです‼️
オンライン英会話を始めるつもりはなくとも、お試し気分、英語を他でお勉強中のお子さんは実力試しに受けてみるにはとてもお得で、やってみる価値ありだと思います‼️
そんな流れで我が家はCKかGSAかで、選ぶことに。
